Stan Webb was at the heart of the British Blues Boom as he led his band Chicken Shack around the Blues club circuit in the late 60s. Londoner Stan played guitar in skiffle groups before forming his own band in 1965, playing a series of residencies in Hamburg, Germany over the next couple of years. When the band signed for the new Blue Horizon label in 1967, they were called Chicken Shack and consisted of Stan on guitar, Christine Perfect (later McVie) on piano, drummer Dave Bidwell, and bassist Andy Sylvester, who later played with Foghat.

In 1968, they released their album ’40 Blue Fingers, Freshly Packed and Ready to Serve’, and opened a big tour for labelmates Fleetwood Mac. Their most popular number was a version of ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’, the Etta James standard, sung by Christine Perfect. Stan himself had a true Blues sensibility, and an excellent guitar technique, closely modeled on Freddie King. Five years of constant touring and recording followed, and the pressures of this crazy lifestyle led to many changes in personnel, including Christine Perfect switching to Fleetwood Mac.

In 1974, Stan dissolved Chicken Shack and joined another British Blues band, Savoy Brown, but returned a year later with ‘Stan Webb’s Chicken Shack’. This band, with an ever changing roster of side-men, has continued to support Stan up to the present, playing regularly in the UK and touring Europe. After almost 50 years on the road, Stan still carries the torch for British Blues.

Robert Ian McNabb was born in Liverpool on November 3rd 1960. An only child - the son of Patricia and Robert.
He first picked up a guitar at the age of 12 after seeing Marc Bolan on Top Of The Pops.
Ian joined his first band, Young World, at the age of 15 ; They played the working men’s club circuit for a couple of years before Ian joined another band City Lights. This band again gigged extensively around the North of England cabaret circuit, but Ian grew tired of playing other peoples songs and decided that cabaret was not the way forward for him.
He had always written songs for fun but now he began to take it seriously.

In 1981 Ian formed The Icicle Works with Chris Sharrock (drums), and Chris Layhe (bass and vocals).
They quickly gained a following through their debut single release, Nirvana, and extensive live performances up and down the country.

The Icicle Works became part of the Liverpool renaissance movement of the eighties, alongside acts such as Echo And The Bunnymen, The Teardrop Explodes, WAH!, Heat, OMD, Black, Dead Or Alive, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, The Lotus Eaters, and China Crisis.
They signed to Beggar’s Banquet records, and under the guidance of Martin Mills scored a top 20 hit with Love Is A Wonderful Colour in the U.K ; and top 40 placings in the U.S, Canada, and Europe with Birds Fly (Whisper To A Scream), with their eponymous debut album.
The Icicle Works achieved top 40 placings in the UK for all four of their albums - The Icicle Works, The Small Price Of A Bicycle, If You Want To Defeat Your Enemy Sing His Songs, and Blind - until they split up in 1988.

Muff Winwood signed Ian to Epic records in 1989, paying a buy-out fee to Beggar’s Banquet; but Muff’s insistence on using The Icicle Works name, (with new musicians Roy Corkill and Zak Starkey) when the original band had ceased to be, caused friction, and after one disappointingly received album, Permanent Damage, Ian was dropped from Epic’s roster.

David Wright & Carys started performing together in 2012; composing music that would later appear on the album ‘Beyond the Airwaves Vol 2’. Their first collaborative album, ‘Prophecy’, described as; “A journey from the ocean to the stars”, was released in 2017, followed by the iTunes single, ‘Call to Me’, and a series of successful European concerts.

Both artists have strong credentials. David Wright is a veteran of the electronic music scene with over 50 albums released since the late 1980’s that display a wide range of influences. Wright peppers his impressionistic compositions with rock, classical and world flavours, resulting in a diverse range of moods that have been favourably compared to Mike Oldfield, Kitaro, Vangelis and Tangerine Dream.

Carys is an established singer/songwriter on the UK acoustic scene with an enthusiastic and evocative stage presence. She displays a natural charm that has won her many admirers, not just within the folk/rock scene, but also far beyond it. Her debut album, ‘A Different Kind Of Normal’, is a successful fusion of folk, rock and electronica.

Together, David Wright & Carys combine to create beautiful musical soundscapes that are both emotionally engaging and intellectually stimulating; melodic and thematic music that tells a story, with or without words.

They merge the layered, otherworldly voice of Carys with David’ssynths and rhythms in an original and captivating style that has been described as “Vangelis meets Enya”.

The Petty Heartbreakers got together in 2011 to give the people a chance to hear Tom Petty's music in a live environment a bit more often, since Tom had only occasionally visited the UK in the last 20 years. Since Tom's sad passing in 2017, there's more reason than ever to keep playing those fabulous songs live.

The band plays songs from across Tom Petty’s career with and without the Heartbreakers, including early breakthrough hits such as American Girl, Breakdown, Refugee, via the Full Moon Fever classics, I Won’t Back Down, Runnin’ Down A Dream and Free Fallin’ right through to the end of Tom’s career. In this way there is lots for the casual fan of Tom’s music but also a few deeper cuts.

DAVE KELLY - Solo dates:   Dave Kelly made stunning solo acoustic performances at three festivals in 2012 :- Ely Folk Festival, The Great British R&B Festival in Colne and Blues On The Farm in Chichester, and also at Bamfest in 2013.  Most of the year he tours with The Blues Band, but having enjoyed these solo shows so much he returns to his roots on a more regular basis with a number of solo performances each year.  2016 included the Vancouver Island Music festival and Glastonbury.  Dave returned to Canada for more shows in 2018.

Dave Kelly, founder member of The Blues Band with Paul Jones, Hughie Flint & Tom McGuinness thirty three and a third years ago. When The Blues Band started back in 1979 Dave was already a seasoned blues artist with a reputation across the world. In the early sixties he started performing acoustic, mostly Mississippi style blues, in folk clubs. His first performance was a floor spot at The Half Moon Putney in 1964- a session run by Gerry Lockran, Cliff Aungier & Royd Rivers. In 1966 he went to the USA and played at Gerde's Folk City in New York. On returning from the States he joined The John Dummer Blues Band as lead vocalist and guitarist. It was with The Dummer Band that he made two UK tours backing John Lee Hooker and one with Howlin Wolf. After leaving the John Dummer Blues Band late in '69 he went back to solo performing and toured and recorded with the legendary Eddie 'Son' House.

Since then he has recorded a TV show with, and backed in concert, Buddy Guy and Junior Wells as well as continuing to tour with The Blues Band

In late 2012 Dave released, on Hypertension Records, a new album entitled: Dave Kelly - Family and Friends. Featuring tracks with various family and friends recorded over the past 45 years. Guest include: Jo-Anne Kelly, Eric Bibb, Long John Baldry, Maggie Bell, Chris Barber, Jona Lewie, Christine Collister, Chuck Leavell, Paul Jones, Howlin Wolf amongst others.

He may be one of the most lauded artists in the contemporary blues arena today, and rightfully so, but for Mike Zito, the thing that counts the most is maintaining his honesty, authenticity and integrity. Those are the qualities that have steered Zito’s career since the beginning and continue to define every effort he’s offered since.

“I have nothing to hide; it seems my honesty is what people relate to most,” he once told Vintage Guitar magazine. “Anders Osborne told me early on, ‘If you don’t believe what you’re singing, you’ll never be a good singer.’ I try not to write fluff. I try to make every word count.”

That point became convincingly clear with his last record 2018’s First Class Life, a collection of songs that detailed his journey from addiction to sobriety and the subsequent success he achieved through his award-winning body of work. A multiple award winner and nominee, Zito has built his career on an ability to tap into tradition while maintaining contemporary credence all at the same time.

Zito’s latest album -- his 16th – out now and descriptively titled Rock N Roll: A Tribute to Chuck Berry, finds him broadening his boundaries still further even as it marks a return to his roots. The album consists of 20 Chuck Berry classics performed by Zito and an impressive array of 21 guest guitarists, among them Joe BonamassaWalter TroutEric GalesRobben FordSonny LandrethLuther DickinsonAlbert CastigliaAnders Osborne and, significantly, Chuck’s grandson, Charles Berry III.

“This was a very special project for me,” Zito says. “I lived in Chuck’s hometown of St. Louis for 32 years, and I worked at a small musical instrument store where his drummer also happened to be employed. Chuck’s son would drop by on occasion as well. He was an icon, and rightfully so. I’ve been playing his songs since I was a kid. He was a tremendous influence on my career, and, of course, on many other musicians’ as well.”
