The Chaplins are an award winning Americana band based in Glasgow, Scotland. The brainchild of Jill and Lisa, they formed in 2012 as a project that brought together their musical influences. Shortly after forming they were asked to join the much-loved Runrig on their Re-Wired tour which saw them playing to audiences in sold out concert halls and arenas across the UK and Europe. The Chaplins won the hearts of many thousands and were Runrig’s most successful support act to date, selling out of their debut EP ‘Introducing The Chaplins’. Since then they have been touring extensively around the UK developing a fast growing fan base.

In 2014 they won The Danny Kyle Stage at Celtic Connections and made their National TV debut when they were asked to perform live on BBC1’s Andrew Marr Show.

The band members are accomplished musicians in their own right who together as a unit create a distinctive sound with soaring harmonies and foot stomping music. Seeing them perform live is an event you’ll never forget. Their timeless feel will appeal to all – eight or eighty you will find yourself mesmerised by this outstanding band.

They are by no means a band singing old time country songs about dogs, heartbreak and front porches. Jill has produced perfectly crafted, meaningful songs with unforgettable melodies and poignant lyrics and with the help of Lisa and Johnny these songs are beautifully brought to life.

These musicians have shared stages with a good many legends including Albert Lee, Eddi Reader and Bluegrass master, Roland White. With influences ranging from Emmylou Harris to Stevie Wonder, Alison Krauss to Ray LaMontagne, The Chaplins are strong believers that a good song is a good song no matter what the genre. All the flavours of their influences will be evident on their much-anticipated forthcoming album – due out September 2015.
