The Martin Barre Band came to Backstage at the Green Hotel here in Kinross on Saturday 3rd October. With a varied mix of songs the set was incredible! Nothing but praise from all who attended the GIG. Hopefully he will return next year. Stunning musicianship from the whole Band which of course included our old friend Alan Thomson on Bass Guitar and slide guitar! Alan Will be here at New Year with his own Band the Alan Thomson Allstars. Make sure you catch that gig!!!

Martin Barre has been the guitarist of Jethro Tull for 43 years, his sound and playing having been a major factor in their success. Martin’s guitar playing has earned him a high level of respect and recognition; he was voted 25th best solo ever in the USA and 20th best solo ever in the UK for his playing on ‘Aqualung’. His playing on the album ‘Crest of a Knave’ earned him a Grammy award in 1988.
