“Pure class. Gina Foster was sensational and the band just sublime” – promoter Sue Martin

Given that media interest in Joni Mitchell’s music and life story is as strong now as ever, added to the fact that even before her recent illness she’d made it clear there’d be no future live performances, interest and enthusiasm for this show continues to grow. Joni’s Soul offer a unique opportunity to hear her great songs sung and played by some of UK’s finest, with a similar level of artistry as were Joni’s originals. Joni’s Soul look beyond merely the faithful reproduction of the Joni Mitchell songbook and shine a light on the most soulful aspects of her words and music.

Coyote, Hejira, Edith and the Kingpin, The Hissing of Summer Lawns, River, Trouble Child, Help Me and Gina Foster’s gorgeous version of Both Sides Now – it’s through songs like these that the band explore the unique songwriting, harmonic concept and gift of performance Joni Mitchell enduringly revealed in her celebrated albums Blue, Court and Spark, Hejira, The Hissing of Summer Lawns and beyond

The band is –

Gina Foster – vocals (Eric Clapton, Sinead O’Connor)

Ronnie Johnson – guitar (Van Morrison, Bob Dylan)

… and additional guitars Patrick Johnson

Graham Harvey – keyboards (Incognito, George Benson)

Steve Pearce – bass (Randy Crawford, Anything But The Girl)

Richard Bailey – drums (Stevie Winwood, Jeff Beck)
